Corrected pricing note
DocsRouter has not verified a universal savings percentage. It does not cache OCR results or run a confidence-based model waterfall.
A direct provider integration gives you the provider's complete API surface and billing relationship. DocsRouter instead gives you one key, one /v1/ocr request shape, a filtered live image-model catalog, and a common cost breakdown.
Current DocsRouter pricing
Vision-model usage is charged at provider cost plus a 5% platform fee. Mistral OCR's dedicated parser starts from its direct provider rate of $2 per 1,000 pages before the platform fee. Minimum charges and rounding can affect small requests.
What routing means today
The quality, accuracy, speed, cost, and balanced policies map to fixed documented models. They do not evaluate the document, compare multiple outputs, or retry after a low-confidence response.
Whether DocsRouter is a better fit depends on engineering effort, model requirements, support needs, and your measured document mix. Compare total cost using your own request volume and provider usage; do not assume a percentage reduction.
